Peripheral |
Computer component which is in the periphery of the cpu and RAM.
One can tell input/output peripherals (such as mouse, keyboard, printer) and mass storage peripherals (hard disk, CD-ROM drive, etc). But other peripherals like a scanner don't really fit these 2 categories.
Some peripherals are totally external (like the printer) and others are intergrated in the computer case (like the hard disk drive).
