Language

A computer language is a set of symbols and characters used to give instructions to a computer according to a specific synthax.

There are different types of languages. So called low level languages are close to the machine and high level languages are close to the human language, more understandable by a human being. For example "copy" is a key word in various computer languages and means just that, to copy.

At the lowest level is the machine language where instructions are only series of coded 0s and 1s which can be directly assimilated by the machine.
